Named after the most famous beach on Islay, Machir Bay is the holy grail of the Kilchoman range. Machir Bay is a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry butts. Machir Bay was first launched in 2012 winning the IWSC 2012 Gold Award and more recently in 2016 it was awarded best Islay Single Malt at the IWC.
The nose is vanilla based with hints of citrus. The palate is fruity and herby with a smooth smoky taste. A balanced medium length, slightly smoky and winter fruit finish.
