This single malt from Glenfiddich is the 2nd release in the limited-edition series from the Speyside distillery. The previous release, the Madeira Cask (excellent by the way) laid high standards and this expression follows suit. Matured exclusively for 19 years in American Bourbon casks, this single malt is a must for those who see spicy fruit and sweetness as their ‘go to’.
On the nose expect scorched toffee, vanilla with wafts of earthy spice...marmalade too. The palate is smooth with vanilla more increasingly apparent, before a dry leathery mouthfeel fades into further spice notes, cardamom notably. The finish is warm with hints of spiced apple and fruits.
