A marvellous creation from the whisky wizards at Gordon & MacPhail, this Caol Ila single malt has been given a luxurious red wine cask finish in barrels that once held the iconic Super Tuscan, Sassicaia. Distilled in 2010, this Islay gem matured for 12 years before being bottled in 2023 at 45% ABV, free from chill filtration and artificial colouring, as part of the esteemed Connoisseurs Choice range.
Nose – Stewed fruits and oily lemon peel mingle with rich demerara sugar, savoury cured meats, and a whisper of bonfire smoke.
Palate – Layers of charred pineapple and sticky Medjool dates meet earthy peat and smooth caramel, creating a complex and indulgent flavour profile.
Finish – Soft, sweet, and beautifully balanced, with lingering smoke wrapping around every sip.
