Yellow Spot 12 Year Old

Since the 1800s Mitchell & Son's has been making some of Ireland's finest whiskies, with barrels of the good stuff quietly maturing underneath the busy hustle and bustle of Dublin.

Yellow Spot is a very unique whiskey in many aspects. An old bottle was discovered at a museum in Dublin that allowed for the master distillers to recreate this old favourite. This whiskey is matured for a full 12 years in American bourbon barrels, Spanish sherry butts, and uniquely, Spanish Malaga casks. Only limited quantities have been made making it a must-have whiskey to try!

The nose is full of mown hay & cracked black pepper. Red bell peppers, nutmeg, clove oil & green tea. Sweet honey & peaches from the Malaga casks.

The palate has a honey sweetness with pot still spices. Flavours of fresh coffee, creamy milk chocolate & Crème Brûlée. Notes of red apples & toasted oak. Its finish is sophisticated & complex with a sweetness throughout, followed by a mix of red grape & dry barley upon exit.
