J.J. Corry’s The Gael is a masterful Irish blend of 60% malt and 40% grain whiskeys, including some of the oldest and rarest stocks from the bonder’s library. Aged in both bourbon and sherry casks in the Cooraclare rackhouse and bottled at 46% ABV, The Gael first appeared in limited batches before joining the core range after Batch 3, earning acclaim and numerous awards along the way. Named by founder Louise McGuane in homage to the bicycle designed and cycled by JJ Corry himself, this whiskey celebrates heritage, craftsmanship, and a pioneering spirit.
Nose:
Orchard fruits in the form of ripe red apple, white peaches and apricots. Floral notes, and hints of freshly cut grass and Douglas Fir.
Palate:
Orange hard candy develops into candied orange peel, before giving way to cooked stone-fruit flavours: apricot frangipane tart and peach cobbler.
Finish:
Hazelnuts, apricot yoghurt and sweet spice.
