That Boutique-y Gin Company makes its Vintage Pu-erh Tea Gin with the eponymous fermented tea that has been aged up to 35 years! They use a combination of hot and cold infusion techniques to accurately acquire the flavours from the tea. The label features stacks upon stacks of Pu-erh tea cakes

Nose: Soft caramelised orange, blackberry and lemon curd emerge through earthy juniper, vanilla sweetness and a good helping of herbal tea leaves. There’s tart berry fruit, just a hint of sherry cinnamon and plenty of nutmeg as the nose develops.

Palate: A huge green tea explosion defines the palate. Cherry blossom, caramel and a touch of juniper emerge through the tea-based core, alongside a prickle of baking spice.

Finish: More herbaceous tea and little honey remains.
