The eagle-eyed of you might have seen this this gin making an appearance on the hit Amazon show, Clarkson's Farm. Inspired by the time of the year (September) when the hops are harvested in the northern hemisphere. This Diddly Squat Farm Shop Gin is created using the traditional British hop “Fuggles” known for its spicy blackcurrant notes and Maris Otter malt which is used extensively in British beers.
Tasting Notes
The Nose: A big nose of hops, blackcurrant spicy notes at the front and slight maris otter malt in the background.
Palate: Subtle juicy blackcurrant notes at the forefront, followed by well-rounded spice/warmth, backed by sweeter notes from the malt. Followed by further fruit notes from the hops to conclude.
Serving Suggestion
As a classic G&T with Seagram’s tonic water and garnish with fresh ginger and lemon zest to draw out the hops further.
