The Compass Box The Double Single is an interesting blend in that it uses one single grain from Girven and one single malt from Glen Elgin. The chaps at Compass Box make a compelling argument as this blended whisky hits the spot, or we think so at least.
On the nose expect light chocolate and sweet background notes. On the palate the malt comes through with a balance of subtle apple, vanilla and cinnamon spice. The finish is delivered with lasting sweetness and the malt continues to shine through. The guys Compass Box recommend serving as a rich aperitif before supper, or as a rewarding post-prandial.
