Valkyrie is the first of Highland Park’s legend series. Partnered with the renowned Danish designer Jim Lyngvild, Valkyrie is able to celebrate the rich Nordic ancestry at Orkney. Triple matured in American oak sherry, American oak bourbon and Spanish oak sherry casks, Valkyrie Is also unusually made with 50% peated stock for a smokier taste. Highland Park Valkyrie earned a score of 99 Points in the Ultimate Spirits Challenge; making it a must try whisky. The natural colour comes from the triple cask maturation.
On the nose expect mix fruit such as apples and pears with a hint of zesty lemon. On the palate expect dried fruits and oriental spices, with a tone of vanilla. The finish is smokier than usual for highland park, but not overwhelmingly so.
