OHD - Marka Nordic Bitter

Oslo Håndverksdestilleri (OHD) started life in 2015 and was created with one goal in mind; to create exceptional quality artisanal spirits. The products they produce resonate with distilling traditions dating back to pre-1927 and encompass rich Norwegian botanicals from the surrounding area, namely the river Alna, situated near Norway’s capital city.

Marka is OHD’s Norwegian digestive bitter with dandelion, bog myrtle and angelica root. All botanicals are macerated in spirit to produce the perfect aroma and taste. Each botanical contributes to the natural colour and delicate balance of our spirit. Before bottling they add a touch of honey and a short period of cask maturation to allow the distinctive flavours of each botanical to marry.

On the nose expect oily laurel, herby roots and myrtle. The palate is filled with aromatic citrus notes and gentian. The finish is herbal with a satisfying balance of bitters.

Serving suggestion: on the rocks or a long drink with soda, most refreshing!

Alternative suggestion: Marka Spritz. Mix 40ml Marka Bitters with 15ml sugar or honey, lemon juice and top up with your chosen Prosecco. Garnish with orange or grapefruit.
