Tequila Fortaleza launched in 2005 but have over 140 years of tequila history in their family (5 generations). No short-cuts are taken at Fortaleza, the use of old-world machinery and processes creates a very unique tequila experience. Fortaleza is regarded as one of the best Tequilas in the world, using agave plants gown for a minimum of 8 years before harvest, baked in stone ovens, crushed by a two tonne volcanic rock, fermented with open air tanks, distilled twice in traditional copper pot stills, aged in re-charred American oak barrels for 7 months and finally bottled on a small scale bottling station.
